More than just a mom

After attending the send off for @RiaanManser‘s #addhope journey I headed to the sailing academy as the owner is getting married and his wife-to-be heard that I do photography (and I booked them!)
Even though heading there meant booking an exam it also meant finding out that Ian is sleeping with the new Argentinian student there…

At first I thought of cancelling our night to Mercury but instead I invited everyone from the school to join us. There was nothing ever solid between us so other than a bond I can’t quite explain I have no right to feel protective over him. BUT I can smirk quietly knowing that not one person (other than him of course) at that school likes her. Everyone agrees that there is something off though no one can say what exactly. Though Adrian claims it’s cause the first morning there she woke them all up at 6am blaring kak music. Anyway…

You can ask any of those who go out with me, I’ll drink but I do so responsibly as I’m always the one making sure we all get home. Well this was the first night since the summer festival in Germany (2007) that this was not the case… Am I proud? Not really. Did I have fun? Without a doubt!
As fun a night as I had I have NO idea how people can do that weekend after weekend. Maybe it’s my trust issues that don’t let me do it often, or the mom hat that doesn’t come off easily, or the fact that I actually like remembering a night :P

Fysh… When you’re older you’ll come to realise the importance of surrounding yourself with decent people, go out and have fun, you’re only a kid once. But make sure you do it responsibly.

So thank you to all those who made the bits I can remember of Friday night epic, thanks to the lovely old friend I bumped into who laughed just as hard as I did when the Argentinian did whatever it was she was trying to do (picture really loud music and a not so full dancefloor, now picture a rasta Argentian bent over so her head is between her knees and her ass in your crotch). Thanks Kyle for driving us all home (without crashing my car) and putting me to bed, to Jaco for the giant bruise on my ass and the skin missing off my knee (after putting his big foot in the way of my heel), to the bastard who stole my blackberry (which I’m oddly enough not THAT pissed off about) and to Ian for getting me motherlessly intoxicated (and one day I’ll get you back!)

And of course a huge thanks to all the bands who kept us dancing :)
And for the judgemental out there – judge away… It’s not often I get to act my age so ja *sticks tongue out*
